The Institute of Inflammation and Repair is one of six Research Institutes in the Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences.
The institute sees six Centres [Respiratory and Allergy, Gastroinstetinal Sciences, Manchester Collaborative Centre for Inflammation Research (MCCIR),
Tissue Injury and Repair, Musculoskeletal and Dermatology brought together.
The Manchester Musculoskeletal Research Group at The University of Manchester is made up of large programmes of work
within and across our main research groups. Our research investigates a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions from
the causes of disease to treatment and prevention.
The Arthritis Research UK Centre for Epidemiology is a unique research institution internationally, in terms of its major focus on understanding
the epidemiology of the major musculoskeletal disorders. The Centre is made up of 100 individuals working on a wide variety of programmes and projects.
The Arthritis Research UK Centre for Genetics and Genomics undertakes a major research programme focussing on the identification and characterisation of genetic variants
that influence susceptibility to and outcome of arthritic diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis and psoriatic arthritis.
The NIHR / WT Central Manchester Clinical Research Facility supports inpatient and outpatient clinical research studies from a wide range of disciplines,
boasting a team of highly-skilled staff, well equipped infrastructure and a professional environment.
